I bought a rifle at a garage sale yesterday for $5.  It is a Western Field Model 807A-ECH.  It cross references with a Colt Colteer Single Shot .22 S, L, LR.

The finish was rough so I took it apart and refinished the metal and wood.  Now it looks like a rifle that's aged well.  One problem.  I can't get the damn thing back together.

The trigger / safety spring sprung during disassembly.  The way it looks like it should be installed is not working.  I cannot find any info / diagrams.  I am mildly retarded at this point.  Can any current  / former owners of similar rifles clue me in?

Help.

I can't even find a picture of such a thing.  I'd suggest calling Numrich for something that rare.

A digital camera when taking stuff like that apart is like water in the desert.

Hope you figure it out.

How certain are you about the cross referrence?  Aren't colteers semi-autos?

Edit:  guess not

Colt had a Colteer Semi and a Single Shot.  Western Field had twins of each sold through Monkey Wards retail stores.

The fact that it is such a *simple* mechanism and I can't figure it is really pissing me off.

Have you checked this schematic from Numrich.com? Unfortunately, it does not specify whether it's the autoloader model or not...

I would ask for help over at rimfire central.com. When it comes to rimfire issues you would be surprised at the obscure knowledge the folks there have and are willing to share. Good luck.

I took a break from it today, but I may have had a revelation.  If and when I get this contraption together, I'll stick it in her bullet hole and post pics.
