ETA: Still no name....gimmie some more feedback

As some of you know, my wife and I are expecting another child at the end of July.

Last time around, arfcom was instrumental in helping us narrow our choices. (actually, we were pretty set on the the name that we wound up using - Owen - but arfcom sealed it for us)

We won't know the gender, but we're pretty much settled on a female name: Amelia Annabelle Mxxxxxxx.

But we're unsure for a boy.

If you're going to tell me "go with something traditional" then save your breath. James and Matthew will sound like Archie and Harold in 20 years.

Poll coming. Multiple choices allowed.

Any of those are good IMO.  But whatever you do, please don't give him/her a "unique" spelling of it.  Unique = punching bag on playground.

Congratulations, you guys.  I voted for Graham.

Liam FTW

I was going with Wyatt, but Billy Joe Jim Bob has a nice rhythm...

Name him William, after my Father-in-law. He kicked major ass in two wars.

Whatever you decide, congrats, and best wishes.

Just out of those? Liam.

You should have had a "None of the above" option.

That would tell you if your group of names is reasonable.

Oy vey.

Use a family name.

Done.

Don't have much say...  I voted for Miles but idk what im talking about.

I voted Wyatt....think outside the box...I named my boy "Justiss"
5/25/2009 3:53:09 PM EDT

Without knowing the last name or even it's ethnicity I won't bother with suggestions.

Girls name is great and the boy names are uncommon enough to be worth using, who wants to share their name with half the kids in school.

I like Graham.
Sensible first name.

Use the "Secretary of State test"

Picture the kid as an adult, being introduced as secretary of state.

Does it work?

Last name is *very* Irish, FWIW.

Condoleezza would have failed that test, and the longest serving Secy of State was Cordell...

Funny. After I posted, I told my wife about this thread.

We talked about "Condoleeza"

No test is perfect, of course. With Rice, "we'd have to be talkin' about one charming motherfucking Condoleeza"

That's what I wanted.

When my first son was born, I said we would go with Urban if Urban had brought home any hardware yet.......well......Coach Meyer sorta took that excuse off of the table.

I'm still pulling for Urban as a middle name.

Always harder the second time around. We(well I
) had the name picked out before he was even conceived.

I was just thankful the she liked the name too. She picked Gavin this time and we were both happy.
