[ARCHIVED THREAD] - USB to firewire connection?

I'm trying to transfer video from a Sony DV camera to a Windows Vista PC, but apparently I need an i-Link/Firewire connection. The PC does not have a firewire port, and best I can see by Sony's software I can't transfer video via USB. Any ideas?

That looks like exactly what I need, but it shows only the PAL version being available. Apparently, the NTSC version is for the US. Any ideas of the differences between the two?

I forgot to mention, this is a laptop without a PCM-whatever slot on it.

ETA: Reading through the reviews, you MAY want to shop around for a different laptop card than the one I posted.
