Mornin' Jane. Edited to ask: Are you really an old woman? I know women never reveal their true age, but are you old? Forgive him, Jane. What he MEANT to say was: As curious as I might be about your age, I know better than to ask any female how OLD she is. Next up: LL will inquire in a sensitive fashion whether Jane sweats much for a fat chick. |

Mornin' Jane. Edited to ask: Are you really an old woman? I know women never reveal their true age, but are you old? Am I old? Does the fact that "Jane" is just the diminutive of my real name "Janeosaur" give you a hint? Actually, I'm forty-eight. I know I'm over the hill, but I had one hell of a good run and I don't regret a minute of it. And I've got an old geezer of an SO a couple of years older than me who'll still bend me over the tailgate on his pickup now and then. Life's good. And you guys don't be too hard on LL, I'm really not age sensitive. That crack about "not sweating much for a fat chick" was pretty close to the line though. I'm VERY much aware that I'm ten pounds over my optimal sporting weight. Jane |

http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp20/jaikey1975/cemetery2.jpg Good morning Jane! These roses seemed appropriate this morning.
Any big plans today? I'm going to the National Cemetery in Hampton for my semi-annual crying jag. That picture of yours got me started a few hours early. Here's another that does it every time

So, I don't think you're old at all. My question meant no disrespect, though it looks like you didn't take any offense to it.

age is all relative, I know in our youth obsessed culture we should all be 20 something forever, when you reach 60 Jane you will look back at your current age and think you were young then. Its all in our minds how we react to the number....I am older and fatter than I would like to be...one I can diet away, wish I could diet away the years... |

I went to my fathers grave & left fake red/white/blue roses that my daughter made up for him, along with a little note I wrote him... My old man was a Korean war vet. Died May 25th 2006 This memorial day kinda sucked for me. I couldn't get into it this year....& I'm a vet myself. My wife says "thats unlike you." But I'm glad to see that you guys remembered those lost. That is all...carry on. |

'mornin, just got off work. thank you jane for the pic, its beautiful...(can i say that here? )You can as far as I'm concerned. I've made this point before, but for anyone who missed it: BTDT guy = interesting. BTDT guy who appreciates flowers = fascinating. Multi-dimensional people are virtually always more interesting than one-trick ponies. Jane |

Morning, Jane. I've always been partial to roses. It doesn't matter the type or color, I have them everywhere. Here's some pics of mine: http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/Gyrene8490/other/ls20.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/Gyrene8490/other/ls19.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/Gyrene8490/other/ls18.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/Gyrene8490/other/ls28.jpg Those are beautiful. My antipathy to roses comes not from the flower, but rather the number of times I've received red roses as part of a campaign to separate me from the tattered remains of my virtue. Demonstrating an ability to think outside the box would have likely been more effective. Jane |

I thought about planting a couple rose bushes this year, but honestly The whole plant is hideous in my opinion.
I think the flowers are really nice looking, but the plant itself is just kinda ugly I think. I think it't because it just kinda looks stringy to me. To each his own I guess. |

Fourty-eight ain't old. (I'm 53 Jeez, it's the flower thread that wouldn't die. And trust me, Frank, forty-eight for a woman is OLD, way older than fifty-three for a man. It's all a matter of how well we take care of ourselves. I'm 51, and in the best shape of my life. It takes grueling commitment to daily, vigorous excercise and a brutally scientific approach to nutrition. The human body can be a prison or a palace. Most people are simply not willing to endure the work, and practice the cold decision-making it takes to live in a highly mobile, efficient human machine. Every day, there are ten thousand decisions: Do I want to eat that cookie someone left on my desk and make them feel happy, or do I drink my protein powder, go run 5k, toss the cookie in the trash and hurt somebody's feelings? Me? I'll hurt somebody's feelings. Because that is what it takes. But most women won't. |

Nothing says "Darlin, outta them bloomers" like a dessicated, spiny, rough plant clinging to life at the fringe of survivability. (and GOOD MORNIN' JANE!! |
