Hola everyone.
I am heading out to Half Price Books later today and I am looking for recommendations for a couple of good series. Sci-Fi, some Fantasy ( I read and enjoyed the Twilight series), Military Fiction (Jason Borne series/the Marcinko books) and general fiction. I also really enjoy series. I've read 35 books in the last 4 months due to not working because of a broken back and I am out of books. Help a brother in need with some great books |

Anything by S.M. Stirling - The day the fire died is a wonderful book (series) on the end of the world as we know it.
Dive into Asimov - While he is dead now he wrote a whole pile of good books. Try Phillip K. Dick - Old but cool SciFi. John Twelve Hawks - The Traveler series. Should scare the crap out of you. If it doesn't you are not right in the head. (not horror) Good luck. |

I read and enjoyed the Twilight series I wouldn't ever admit that again. Ever. Like... ever. Dude, I've read so many books pretty soon you have to start reading the crap. It's kinda like watching a movie like "Date Movie" or "Hot Shots". You know they're going to be shitty movies but you can still enjoy them. As for Asimov and Dick, I've read most of them. I mean really, I feel like I'm dragging the bottom of the book barrel. It feels like the $3 DVD bin at WalMart

| How about some WWII memoirs. Try Currahee! , Seven Roads to Hell , The Road to Arnhem , and Beyond the Rhine by Donald R. Burgett, who served in the 101st Airborne. I found a few of his books at Half-Price Books, one was a signed copy for less than $4.00. These are some of my favorite books, along with E.B. Sledge's With the Old Breed |

Dale Brown. Start with Flight of the Old Dog. +1 on Dale Brown. Robert Lynn Asprin. Phules Company, and Another Fine Myth. Funny and highly addictive. Piers Anthony's Xanth series. Warning: You have to like puns to enjoy this series. Anything by John Ringo. A Hymn Before Battle is a good starting place. David Weber. His Honor Harrington books are quality reads. I assume you have read Tom Clancy. |
