I love this movie.

Especially the scene where Belushi smashes that hippie's guitar.

Great soundtrack.

Our city's parade today soooo lacked the deathmobile.

Was partially filmed in the town I live in.  Every year we have a toga themed parade and party.  With the death mobile.

It was mostly filmed up north in Eugene.  The parade scene was filmed in my town.  Every time I watch it, I see people in the background that I know.

For a small town, they filmed a bunch of kickass movies here.  The other one that comes to mind is stand by me.

What about "Up the Creek"?

It also starred Tim Matherson, the guy that played Flounder, and Pee Wee from Porky's

As much as I love it (it was my era), I think American Pie is probably the best of that genre.

Animal house was one great movie. My dad was from that era and he loved it. Well at least until he got over 60. Then he hated it. Age is a bitch. I really don't see any College movie besting it. Though I guess for the young folks they like other stuff.

I actually knew the person Otter was supposed to have been based on.  Was an administrator at a small prep school for years (may still be there for all I know).  Not very tolerant of fun, drinking in particular.  Hot wife with no sense of humor.

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor"

I wore my Animal house tee shirt to the theather to see Blues Brothers 2000.

I stood, cheered and cried when, at the end of the credits, the placard went up "Visit Universal Studios ... ask for Babs"

And a classic line from another movie: "I told you we shouldn't have fragged Lt. Neidermeyer"

Any one know which movie they fragged him in?

Triva question:

On what college campus did they originally plan to film the movie, but were not allowed to because the university felt it would make the them come off as a major party school?

It certainly was.  The squad slogging through the swamp.
