So, my wife has a crackberry with unlimited data plan.  I am still trying to avoid having one, but would like to be able to message her.  Is there any way to use a computer app to message her on Blackberry Messenger?

Yes.

It's called e-mail.

You can send her an email to her blackberry messenger account using your computer.

Google messenger, AOL messenger, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN messenger.

Your cellphone provider webpage should have an area where you type in the phone number you want to send a message, another area for text, and a send button.

I don't want to text her, I want to Blackberry message her.  Blackberry messenger is like AOL IM with a running conversation, not a back and forth text.  It also charges the phone on its data plan, not on individual text messages.

BBM, Blackberry Messenger is on for BBs. It' of course is sending pics, sound notes, videos and conversations back and forth. BBM is only BB specific. I do not believe there is a program that send messages from computers to BBs. Only BB to BBs on data plans. BBM connect vis PIN# which each BB has.

AOL IM works on Blackberries and there is no additional charge as it uses the data plan. A friend om mine and I use it all the time.

The only way to message her on Blackberry Messenger is with another Blackberry.
