i fired up my computer this morning and now when I email or reply to an email there is an icon that looks like a music note on the field that i am writing on. also- in the reply every word of the original including info from the sender has a . spacing between the words.
any ideas what is going on? yes, i know the .gov is reading everything.. |

You sir have discovered what is known as a "non-printing paragraph symbol". Here are a few=====> ¶ ¶ ¶ ¶ ¶ Mostly common to MS Word, it is a toggle-able option that you can disable as you see fit. The "." between each word is tied into that symbol and is merely shown to show spaces between words. If you are writing a major term paper in college using Word, you always should have this turned on as it is sometimes hard to tell if you mistakenly have too many or too few spaces between words. Now how to get rid of it in Outlook: Open Outlook. Start a new mail message box. Right click on the top toolbar. Make sure the Standard toolbar is ticked. You will see the icon mentioned above.
