They're dumbasses, nothing more.
The show was meant as a joke, even though what they said was shitty, im really hoping they didn't mean it. Like guys in the USA joking about us still living in igloo's ETA Yeah, dont make judgements on Canadians based on Quebecors
Come to a place like Alberta, and you'll find a lot of us are pretty good guys, even though in Canada, the ratio of libtards is a little higher. |

This last Friday Canada lost another four soldiers in Afghanistan bringing the total to 116. That may not sound like much compared to the 669 US deaths, but remember Canada has only 1/10th the US population.
And, every Canadian soldier that serves in Afghanistan volunteered to do so, nobody is forced to serve in Afghanistan. Bodies of 4 Canadian soldiers return home

It kinda sucks but we have it better than... well all the G20 except for the States Quoted:

Like five round magazines. well that is not totally true anymore, there was a loophole discovered, we can have the LAR-15 mags in 10 round cause they are classified as "pistol" mags, but all the other mags have to remain 5 rounders |

And they have a much smaller military This is the first time since Korea the Canucks have waged ground war alongside the US From Wiki: Canadians in the U.S. military in Vietnam
In counter-current to the movement American draft-dodgers and deserters to Canada, about 30,000 Canadians volunteered to fight in southeast Asia.[10] Among the volunteers were fifty Mohawks from the Kahnawake reservation near Montreal.[11] One-hundred-and-ten Canadians died in Vietnam, and seven remain listed as Missing in Action. Canadian Peter C. Lemon was awarded the U.S. Medal of Honor for his valour in the conflict. (This cross-border enlistment was not unprecedented: In both the First and the Second World War, tens of thousands of Americans had joined the Canadian forces whilst their homeland was still neutral.)[citation needed] In Windsor, Ontario, there is a privately funded monument to the Canadians killed in the Vietnam War.[12] In Melocheville, Quebec, there is a monument site funded by the Association Québécoise des Vétérans du Vietnam.[13] However, many Canadian veterans returned to a society that was strongly anti-war. Unlike in the United States, there were no veterans organizations nor any help from the government. Many of them moved permanently to the United States. There has been ongoing pressure from Canadian Vietnam veterans to have their comrades' deaths formally acknowledged by the government, especially in times of remembrance such as Remembrance Day. Unfortunately, Canada is pulling all it's forces from Afghanistan in 2011. |

They are fighting in Afghanistan under the UN mandate, but they sided with France and Germany on the Iraq war. Don't compare them to the British/ UK. It is not an apt comparison. BTW , Red Eye is a satirical news commentary program that features comedians that aren't afraid to BBQ sacred cows. Unfortunately the Canadian defense chief did say the Canadian Military may need to take a yearlong break to regroup. This cannot be denied. |

Canada at one time had the world's fourth largest army. Now it just relies on it's Southern neighbor for protection at the same time it denigrates us and looks to the United Nations for alliances. |

However the problem is that postings at the UN are still filled with past Liberal appointees, so even with Harper staying in power along time it will take ages to get these scum out of all the civil service appointments. These are non elected officials who beleive they have the right to dictate policy. As for Afghanistan, its anybodies guess if we actually leave on time or not. Harper has made large recent investments in the forces after years of being gutted by the Liberals. But then look at the US forces which are stretched real thin right now and people who were either out, or set to retire or whatever have been put back in the fight. Obama could easily do to your military what the Libs did to ours up here. This kind of damage takes years to fix. |

We're pushing hard in Afghanistan right now. deployments are being extended and more troops heading in. Since we've lost almost all of the ground we've gained, I dunno if it'll be enough. |

The thing is Canada actually does have a military and they actually have troops serving with the UN throughout the world Blue Hatters Blue Hatters At least their entire Pacific Fleet doesn't spend all winter in San Diego anymore. (Which probably pisses them off. Wouldn't you rather spend winter in Dago?) One of the wildest helo pilots I ever met was a Canadian on a tour with HSL-32 out of North Island. I learned some interesting drinking and pool table games from some Canucks taking some Naval Control of Shipping classes with me. We had several Canadian in my Army ROTC classes. I think once you toss out the Gorfs and Ontario liberals most are pretty good folk. |

Honestly, I can't be bothered by their comments. They are just asshats and I don't need the approbation of the US media to be damned proud of our troops.
And yes, us Canadians are as arrogant as we think you are. And yes, Québec is full of retards, but please, don't put us all in the same boat. And what someone said about his visit to Montréal and Québec City; generally people say it's the opposite, that the people of Québec City are really friendly and that the people of Montréal are dumbasses. I'm kinda surprised of your experiences, actually. I'm not 100% positive that we're pulling out in 2011. It's the end date of the current mandate, but it could be extended, although it could very well be we pull out of A-stan in 2011 ![]() |
