Has anyone ever or heard of anyone being red-flagged for purchasing more than two or three firearms in the same month?

I'm pretty sure there a special form the FFL has to submit if you buy two handguns from the same FFL in the same month.

Sure. Just wait until you order 5000 rounds of centerfire ammo at one time!

I was buying a shotgun from Academy's and the guy told me that purchasing more than two or three (not at the same time)in a period of time they might just send the sheriff out to check me out. does that sound right? No handguns were bought.

No. The gun store guy is an idiot that should not be trusted to even charge you the right amount for what you're buying. Watch him carefully.
Nobody is coming to your house, even if you buy the every gun they have in one purchase.

I bought three lowers from my FFL with no problem. Out the door in 15 min or so. He said over three would red flag you ????
I had six total so I waited awhile and got the rest, also with no problem.
