What a fookin' shithole... I have a good friend (and beautiful girl too) who is Russian, she doesn't want to go back.
To the "Russian's are scumb" guy... I know quite a few Russian females (through my friend) and they are really decent, decent people. I think the men go south because of depression and booze, maybe the same for women. The Russian females I know speak highly of us American males compared to Russian males. None of the ones I know are after a husband or money, but the ones who are, who could blame them... We bitch a lot, but our quality of life is way above most parts of the world. If you'd have been treated a crummy as the Russian people have (well before WWII) you'd probably be an asshole too. I have great respect for the Russian populace, they are way tougher than us. |

I stayed in a Soviet communal apartment that had been converted into a cheap motel/hotel in the 90's. 4 bedrooms around a communal dining/living/kitchen room with bathroom and shower located on one side, it was pretty cool. We all got along (us US, 2x Aussie, and Canadian couple) and we threw some great parties. They were still pulling hammer and sickles (?) off some of the walls and signs. Great place, but I found the Chechs to be real assholes compared to the rest of Eastern Europe. The women are nice, but a bit thin on morals (like "I have a boyfriend, but...")... I liked the Polish a whole lot more, lots more. |

I've met Russians from all parts and frankly the only one I didn't consider total scum was a graduate of Moscow U. | The only ones I have met have been immigrants. And honestly they were pretty much white trash gangster wannabees. There are over a hundred, and there isn't one that I don't care to strike up a conversation with. Really hard working, friendly people. |

Wow, looks like a fun place.
Back in the 70's the KGB ran documentaries about how much life sucked in the USA. They sent photographers there to take photos of the worst scummiest ghettos and the dwellings of America's underclass and then propogated to the Soviet citizens. The Russians were dumbfounded by the high standard of living exhibited by the Americans (they didn't know that these were the poorest ones). They had tv's! HUGE apartments! Cars! Americans had it made! Today, the Russian government is trying to talk the ethnic Russians who are descendants of when Alaska was a Russian possession to move to Russia and become citizens. Their population is shrinking and they're desperate for more people. I don't think they'll have many takers. |

If you are referring to the ones that broke your arm because you welshed on a bet then your opinion is a little jaded, you know what I mean? Have you ever been to Russia? FYI - I live and have dated a Russian for the last 3yrs. In fact she just returned from Russia not two weeks ago. IMO you opinion is more than a little off base. |
