Well sir, we got your heart, and the delivery guys crashed just outside of the hospital, so we can replace your testicles your wife stole. |

I like the way you think. That car is bad ass. |

Why the suicide doors? Easier to kick your ass into the back boy! ![]() You can hold onto the suspect with your left hand, use your right hand to open the door and keep your sidearm away from the suspect all at the same time assuming a right handed cop. |

Did you know that the chargers trunk is not wide enough to hold an M16A3 sideways? That means the muzzle is either pointing at the occupants of the vehicle while driving or at the cops junk every time he opens the trunk. They also have a nasty habit of popping out of park and into drive. |

I remember seeing something about that car a couple of years ago, finally materializing I see. No mention of a price tag? I bet it costs as much as two Crown Vics or Chargers. I would bet 50k easy not counting options. It does offer complete package options so that is appealling to some departments, I wonder how warranty or repair work would be handled.
Of course every year Ford says its the last year for the Crown Vic. Who knows how long the Chargers and Impalas will be an available option. It will be hard to beat the Crown Vic, the Charger is ok for a Dodge I guess, and I haven't run across an Impala yet with over 75k miles on it that didn't feel like it was about to fall apart. They will shutdown the CV line eventually so the Charger is the next best choice on the market at the moment. Many departments are really hurting trying to budget for new cars at the moment though. Looks like this thing will cost a mint, probably the biggest thing working against them at the moment. |

Quoted: Quoted: What do you think a fleet Crown Vic is? Quoted: Yeah... I want tax dollars wasted for the police to have custom-made vehicles... relatively cheap. These cars profess to be little more. I have my doubts about that, though. My point was that Ford's CVPI program is no less custom than these cars. |

IIRC this is the brainchild of a former Ford marketing exec, most likely trolling for fat DHS development grants rather than actual construction and deployment. Maybe a few EL33T units will field them, but anything widespread is a pipedream. Another DeLorean-like moneypit. |

I might be wrong, but I would bet few departments care about anything but the operating price of any given vehicle.. ETA: Looks sweet though.. Bingo. I think that one is vaporware. They have been publicizing it for years, and haven't actually delivered any. It seems to have "morphed" recently to include things like NBC detectors, which seems designed to make it qualify for Homeland Security funds. OTOH, IIRC, it's got like 3.0L 6 cylinder turbo-diesel, and is supposed to last 400,000 miles. I'm sure fleet mangers would like a vehicle that has that kind of engine life. Especially if they can use noticeably less fuel. |

Actually, I have had a great idea for a custom cop car.
Esentually it is a fancy station wagon. The perps go on the BACK. You can lift up the whole back end and throw them in there. It is self contained so you can just hose out the blood and vomit. The clearance is much higher so it easier to put them in there. Now where the back seats normally are is where all the shit police have to carry are. Boxes for ARs, Shotguns, ammo, medical kits, crime kits, stop sticks, etc etc. There are no actual traditional doors, just small storage doors like you would see on the side of a fire engine or similar vehicle. |

Runs on biodiesel, so the cop can fuel both themselves and the car at the doughnut shop!! *ba da bump* ![]() Thank you! I'll be here all night, or till I get tazed. Edit : damn it, someone already made the doughnut connection. I need to find dumber people, so I can be the impressive one. ![]() |

A RWD diesel sedan that does a buck fifty, where do I sign up. -JTP Currently: BMW 335d. 425lb.ft torque, 265HP, 0-60 in 6 seconds, 23mpg city, 36mpg highway. Limited to 130 because of the tires. Take the limiter off and it will do 150. Go to Europe and BMW, Audi and Mercedes all have diesels across their lines that will do 150+ An S-Class with their 320CDi will still do 0-60 in 7.5, is limited to 155mph and returns about 37mpg. BMW offers a 730d which tops out at just over 150, and gets 40mpg on the highway. Personally I'd like to see a Bluemotion Passat Wagon here in the USA. It's fairly slow, but rewards you with about 38mpg around town, and almost 60mpg highway. |
