I'll tell them what I feel. I'm an asshole like that. Family means shit to me when my friends and coworkers treat me better than family. I'm not exaggerating. family feels that since they are related they can take advantage of you and walk all over you. borrow money and never pay you back or only visit you when they need something (both of these have either happened to me or my parents)
ETA: I didn't vote. I'd say tell the truth but not hope for change. don't care if they change or not.

It really depends on the family. My parents are wonderful so I "go along to get along" when it comes to things like religion. My grandmother is a crazy bitch though and I intentionally piss her off at times  She had to go in for an Angioplasty and I laughed and asked if roto-rooter would come to her house. She was not amused. I was not amused when she treated my father like shit for 61 years though.
