| I just logged in a minute ago and laughed at the new 'legit' look of jobrelatedstuff, however, none of the links are working for me. Is it currently being worked on, or did it become a paying members only benefit? Thanks. |

For paying members only now. Plus now, it's super-stealth for your job site privacy. I really like the new set-up, but I'm curious... what would you guys think about a little censorship? If we have this site for stealth/privacy to keep people out of trouble at work, wouldn't it make sense to keep the content "SFW?" I know I'd feel a lot more comfortable here if a few four-letter words disappeared. Maybe we could replace them with job related terms for management, co-workers, etc. |

Quoted: it's been totally reworked. It is for team members and higher. If you find it beneficial, please think about becoming a bronze member to help support the site. JRS is definately worth it. TXL There it is again. Does the site lose money without paying members? This is turning into an Emperor's new clothes type question, even staff won't answer when asked directly. I have no problem at all with team and any financial benefit it imparts to the site owners, just seems strange that among a generally fiscally-conservative fanbase, the "support" theory is the default. |

This place makes good money. There is no question about that. Between ad revenues and industry partners, they probably wouldn't have to have members pay money at all. Yes, there are always expenses that go into businesses like this, so it's not like the Avilas hit the Lotto, but I would surmise the site does pretty OK. I have no problem at all with it either. I just wish I'd thought of it first.
I personally am a member because I have learned VOLUMES here, and made some friends to boot, and felt like supporting the source for that info was the right thing to do. There is a very real possibility that I will not be able to maintain the membership but so long as I can, I will. |

I personally just want the functionality back of the old JRS. I appreciate Goatboy thinking of us who do the bulk of our surfing at work, but I miss the "My Active Topics" and "Subscriptions" tabs. I can get used to the rest. This is my biggest complaint. If the JRS facade could at least have "Subscriptions" work, that would go a LOOOOONNNNG way. |

Quoted: No, it doesn't lose money. But if you want the perks you have to pay to play. The ONLY website I've paid money for was totalfark.com, and that was a blast. I had to quit because I was checking "commented links" way too often. Oh, the epic threads I saw there, GD is NOTHING compared to TFD. Same theory: Fark is clearly very profitable for Drew, and TF is just icing on the cake. It's just extra that's worth every penny. Team apparently offers BOTD (Google and /s/ do that for free), and search of GD. Don't really need it. |

When I told GoatBoy last week that I could not get to JRS, he replied that work had probably disabled/blocked something, and I could not get in.
That indicates to me he is NOT aware that JRS is not working, so I will report it today..................unless you guys want ME to fix it

JRS is a Team Only benefit, but if you use JRS you lose all (ok, most) of the 'other' Team Benefits like Subscriptions, My Board, My Topics, etc. You retain access to BOTD (not that it's a good idea when you're on the job) and the Team forum (which I rarely visit) but the navigation tools are lost. Give me my 'Active Topics/Newest Topics/Subscriptions/My Topics/My Board/Search/Archives' toolbar on JRS and I'll use it all the time. Also, the advanced editor should be available from JRS. |

Its a business and the Avilas are trying to make a buck off of it. Nothing wrong with that. I don't pay for a membership to support the site as I'm sure they get all the support they need off ad revenue. I pay for a membership for the added functionality of it. |

When JRS.com worked, I had the same EXACT functionality that AR15.com gives me, so I have no idea why you wouldn't. I have turned on the Goatlight. We ill have to wait til he sees it and responds. If no response, i will go to the servers and start cutting/splicing cables, until I find the one for JRS.com

It works fine, if it's blocked for you old man, that's not anything I can help, thus why you have a new domain to utilize. As to the functionality, it's been discussed in Team that tools would be available soon, just needed time to be rewritten. Again, it's a non-essential service we provide and we added SSL encryption as well as the time/effort to revamp things to be highly covert and secure. It's much more work safe. Once the tool functionality is back in, it will be pretty close to fully functional in regards to the forums. |
