Almighty arfcom and mysterious text in my flat panel,
I 'm seeking advice on how to handle a situation here. First off, I'm a single guy in a small apt, no parties, etc , just basically a place to sleep and maybe surf ar15.com. We are billed from a 3rd party in Florida for water. For the last 10yrs or so I run an avg of 45/60 gallons a day at various complexes so I know my utility history .Now to the drama. I know this is small potatoes but its the principle utility My usage I has slowly increased at first and now has really ramped up. Like from 45gal a day now to 158 gal a day. Investigating this I've found no leaks or evidence of such I've inquire about this at the office. The management seems deceptive and quick to point out this is the average i asked what avg , moments of silence. i'm mention that this avg has increase 100% and still silence. By the way if the utility bill isnt paid, they refuse your rent and threaten eviction.
Today was the last straw, Once again I called, stating my case and get the same we'll look into this and call you back. For the record, these clowns have never returned a phone call since I moved in about anything. I mention maybe I should call the local television consumer affairs reporter, her voice changes and now it's "no sir that wont be necessary.( I'm now on offense.) I suggest I'm a charitable guy and may I should donate 30 five gallons buckets and leave them in their office every day. (I figure I paid for it and don't use it , maybe they can).Once again no sir that wont be necessary. Nobody has ever called me sir before So I come home and my neighbors are showing up at the same time. We bs for a minute and I ask about their utility bills. I'm currently paying around $52 /mo and they look at me like wtf[://. The one neighbor pulls out his checkbook and show me where he's paying like $26 this month but its almost always $6.25. The new guy and his girlfriend said he is paying like $5 and actually went in to ask about this. The new guy said their reply was "the water meters are broken and don't mention this to anyone" So what would be the most effective way to bring these bastards out into the sun? update 1-Never received a call until i called at 4:15. They still insist that this is the avg. She read off the building charges for last month. Mine was the second highest. The highest was $67. I ask is this for 1 month, she said yes. She didnt know I had the original bill from my neighbor in front of me. It was for the past 2 months and a late fee. Change of tone again. She insisted she was "on my side" and that this was their income and they watch this closely, but now she is not in charge of this. She would never tell someone not to tell anyone about a defective meter . Someone else will call me tomorrow and they're willing to test the meter. F*cking c*nt. I emailed a complaint to the AL attorney general. |
| Years ago when I was first married, I lived in a new apartment. My electric bill was always ridiculously high, but I never could figure out why. One day I forgot a bill I needed to mail and ran home at lunch. The apartments were new, and they were still doing construction on the ones behind me. When I got there, the construction guys had their tools plugged into the outside outlet in the backyard(which was fenced in) to work on the other apts. They acted really pissy when I told them to unplug the extension cord from my apt. |
