Is one immune from pepper spray once they've been exposed to it?

After 5,000 times, yes.

Nope.

Some people may naturally have a higher tolerance for it but no one is actually "immune".

And repeated exposure can allow you to better deal with the effects but you don't build a tolerance.

no. But there are some people who it doesn't bother as much. We went through training sprays back in the day and there would always be a few guys who were not effected by OC.

OC, I have no tolerance for it in my eyes, It disables me 100%. It doesn't effect my breathing or my mouth or skin..but my eyes, I am ruined for 2x days.

While @ FLETC, a guy in my class, it didn't effect him one iota. No eye, throat, face, nose, mouth...nothing, his eyes weren't even red....

Something like %1-3 have a naturally high tolerance

I went through a course with about 20 of my fellow airmen and only with one guy did it not seem to have any effect. I was in severe pain for hours

I work with a guy who appears to be immune to capsaicin.
We go eat Thai or Vietnamese food and the natives stare at him in awe as he eats chiles right off the plate.

The summer I grew slightly less than lethal Habaneros, I gave him a quart baggie full of them.
He came in on Monday and asked for some more, he ate all of them over the weekend.

He's White as can be and it's not some kind of macho thing.
I just don't think they affect him.

I should try spraying him down with FoxLabs.

What kind of OC spray was used?  How many heat units in spray?

Is he part bird? Birds are completely unaffected by capsaicin.
