Does anyone else think it's about time for it to end? Seriously.. I've seen a lot of ARs on shelves. I know that there are still delays/backorders on some item, but its a BS on other.  Why I bring it up....

A local dealer selling on GB.  I email and he says he's sorry, but if I want it I'll have to bid on it because he's only got 1 "item" for sale. Only 1, but yet as soon as that auction ends there he is with another.. and some moron hits "buy it now"  (at an inflated price over MSRP) on that one and MIRACUOUSLY he posts yet another.

People will be gouging as long as there are suckers that want what they have, and are willing to pay their price,
however high it might be. It's all supply and demand. If the supply is down and the demand is up, prices will be high.
If the government would come out and say."We aren't going to ban your assault rifles" the prices would probably drop
like the stock market. But that's not going to happen.

Shop around, wait, and have the money to buy what you want,
when you find it, for the amount that you are willing to pay for it.

Just what are you looking for??

Call (202) 456-1414. Ask for Barry.  Tell him people are selling guns at prices that are higher than you would prefer, and he should be able to straighten them out.

OK.  Just kidding with you.

You live in Ohio.  Just head down to Vance's in Columbus when they get a shipment in.  I have seen all kinds of rifles there.  Bushmasters, LMTs, LMT MRPs, Les Bauer, DPMS, etc.  Right there on the shelf at MSRP or below, just waiting for someone to come in and buy them.

If you don't like how that seller is acting, take your business elsewhere.

I was under the impression that in a free market, there technically is no such thing as gouging.

Nice use of a personal attack there 10 post wonder.  Nothing in this thread is "gouging" BTW.  Do you think that any time you go into a store and something you want is too high priced for you to pay, it is Gouging???

So don't buy it.  What do you care if someone is charging a price higher than you want to pay?

And bitching and whining like a stood-up prom date is helping you any?

If you don't like the prices, don't buy the product. Whining won't change the prices any. Besides, how many cheap AR parts or whatnot are YOU selling?

It's not "gouging", it's just a tax on stupid people.

If it's priced too high, just don't buy it!

Who determines what is excessive?

I like the fact that I live in a country where the market determines the price of goods. I may not always agree, and when I don't I simply don't purchase the item. It really is that simple.

No.. My entire post has to do with "gouging."  I understand the concept of "gouging."  It has nothing to do with "what I can afford.." Price gouging  is "pricing much higher than is considered reasonable or fair." So it wouldn't matter if I'm Bill F'ing Gates, although by your mis-conception it would

And yet your thread tile was............................................................oh yeah "gouging".  Yet it has to do with a certain vendor doing business in an online auction.  He may be a douchbag, so don't buy his shit.  The concept is quite simple really.  Who should determine what pricing is reasonable or fair?  You the consumer, or the Gov?

And what is excessive about charging what you want for your property?

I don't see anyone holding a gun to the buyers head forcing them to pay.

And to add to it, this braniac isn't even using the "necessity" angle.

He's complaining about gouging on a complete luxury item.

that luxury yacht I saw

I demand that price gouging stop!

When you sell your house.....you sell it for as much as you can get.  If you bought a house 3 years ago and sold it at a profit....were you gouging?  I remember my budy buying a Colt HBAR before the ban or around 700.  The ban nit and that same rifle jumped up to 1500.....NEW.  No changes I can think of would account for that change in cost. It was Essentially the same rifle.  The market changed and the cost increased.   I don't like paying more for things either  but I have to sometimes.  If you had somebody with a strangle hold on food supplies and they jacke dthe price way up but didn't have a change in their costs....then I might call that gouging.  but other than essential items when there is no change in cost to the seller either current or future.I would say you have a tough time proving the case for gouging.
