I was playing with my Netgear wireless settings and I noticed there is a strange computer listed.

I was wondering if someone could help put a password on my wireless system and block them out.

1) Implement WPA2 or WPA - but not WEP (broken).
2) Changed the default password on your wireless router.
3) Stop broadcasting your SSID (stupid but it will stop kiddies).
4) Lower the RF power of your router if possible.

Well if you are already IN the router, click on the Enable Security button... lol.

What he said.
Do you have a network printer? Mine reports as NP56372 or some such. I always look twice when I see it in the DHCP client list.

Get a "network traffic analyzer"

Glean what info you can about them, and use it for lulz or fuck 'em up.

Or post their info on /b

Side note: Your network key should be 63 CHARACTERS long and unintelligible to look at.

I've tried that, the "mystery" computer keeps giving me an error message.  I'm guessing thier PC isn't online at the moment.

If your router shows them on they are on it.

He's not on your network in the sense of computers talking to each other, hes on your network as in on your internet, and if he can be on that he can listen to what your comp and the router say to each other.
