I was just looking at my banking account online.  I noticed three charges that were not mine.  Now i'm looking closely for others.  So far here is what I have found.

02/25/0907:30 PM$1.00
CARD TRANSACTION : AMAZON.COM, AMZN.COM/BILL, WA FROM CARD#: xxxxxxxxxxxx1051

02/26/09   $59.29
DEBIT CARD PURCHASE AT Amazon.com, AMZN.COM/BILL, WA ON 022509 FROM CARD#: xxxxxxxxxxxx1051

02/27/09   $13.64
DEBIT CARD PURCHASE AT Amazon.com, AMZN.COM/BILL, WA ON 022609 FROM CARD#: xxxxxxxxxxxx1051

So i've cancelled my card, a new one is on the way.  I've also contacted Amazon this evening.  I spoke to them on the phone and they have the guy's name who did it.  They asked me if I knew him and I said no, but even if I did, I didn't authorize him to use my card.

I'm supposed to be contacted by Amazon within 24/48 hours.

This will be the third time i've been a victim of credit card theft.

It's not a huge deal because I know I will get the money back, but it's just a pain in the ass because I have to use cash until I get my new card in the mail.

Credit card fraud... Identify fraud would be you receiving a bill for a credit card you didn't open...

Same thing happened to me Thursday, got a text, email and call asking about a bunch of charges I didn't make.

Holy cow, I have to see the transaction myself.  Please send me the URL and username/password so I can check it out.

Yeah, people walk away with a few grand off your card, and nobody gives a fuck.
Why wouldn't they do it again? There's absolutely ZERO deterrent!

It's free money!

Theres a new scam out.  Its small charges you might overlook if youre not careful.
I had a $7 charge from a company called Internet Logistics & a $2 charge from a company called Get New Stuff.
Called my CC company & they removed both charges.  They say the billing is coming out of eastern europe.
Apparently the idea is that big hits are too noticeable but small ones might be overlooked.
My CC company said theyve seen charges as low as $1 that werent legit.  $1 doesnt sound like much but if you hit a
couple of hundred thousand cards & enough of them arent contested the $s add up pretty quick.
Check your statements carefully.  I cant afford to support both the US welfare state & the Russian mob.

Honestly I'm surprised I even noticed.  I buy from Amazon frequently.  If there hadn't been three charges in three days, I most likely would have missed it.

the 1.00 charge was an attempt to see if the account was active then after they found out it was they used it.

Got hit myself just last month.  Seems someone is (was) having a real good time at my expense. Rented an apartment in West Palm Beach, ordered tons of stuff off the internet and in general having fun. Capital One has been great handling it, but it's just going to be a write off in the end.  Wish I could write off my debt.

My card got hit by some of those, but I'm also getting merchandise redirected from incorrect versions of my address. (Magic Jack, DRI e auctions etc). Name is right, street is right, but the objects are sent to different numbers than mine. The postman is getting the stuff too me anyway. Small under ten dollar purchases.

Anybody know what that is? CC company closed the account for me.

Happened to me New Years Eve...
Three charges against my Debit card
$1.00
$2499.00
$98.00

Took 2 weeks to get the shit straightened out and my bank account credited. The bank wasn't much help either...we had to take it up with the online retailers
