Holy crap, I did some extra research on this.
Even after a fairly rough divorce among my parents and my idolized fathers death when I was 17 I was still going strong. I was a bit of thrill seeker and the top of my class in my aviation training. I soloed a full month before anyone else did. I drove a motorcycle regularly and didn't have a fear in the world. I started dating this girl. Both her and her roommate had cats. I always hated cats but after awhile I got to where I would pet it and it would sleep with us. Just out of nowhere without any real cause I started having bad anxiety problems. It didn't make any sense to me. I just assumed all of that trama had caught up to me on some kind of sub-conscious level. After reading more about this they say it may be the cause of some serious neurotic problems. I am really really hating cats right now. |

Did some more research and found out 1 and 10 people are infected with this.
This was from Wiki "Studies have found that toxoplasmosis is associated with an increased car accident rate, roughly doubling or tripling the chance of an accident relative to uninfected people. This may be due to the slowed reaction times that are associated with infection." "If our data are true then about a million people a year die just because they are infected with toxoplasma," the researcher Jaroslav Flegr told The Guardian." Holy crap this thing has us wrecking our cars already. "In 2003, Torrey published a review of this literature, reporting that almost all the studies had found that schizophrenics have elevated rates of toxoplasma infection. A 2006 paper has even suggested that prevalence of toxoplasmosis has large-scale effects on national culture." Its also the 3rd leading cause of death from a Food-Born illness. I've always considered myself educated and I have never heard of this. |
