My wife and I purchased a queen size almost a year ago. She had been having major neck and shoulder pain. I slept ok, but not that great.
It took a little while but she rarely has any problems anymore. Usually she finds that she or one of the kids changed the settings. I now sleep the best I can ever remember. I travel alot this time of the year, and dread hotel beds. Edit: She had been to the docs, scans, physical therapy etc with no help over the previous few years. |

If you don't mind me asking but what type of back problems did/does your wife have? I ask, because I have six disks in various states of degeneration, four in my neck, one mid, one lower back. |

It was pain around her shoulder blade, muscle and nerve inflammation. The theory is that the pressure points are reduced allowing support all along your body instead of pushing on other area's and putting you out of whack. |

I haven't tried a sleep number bed, but we DID buy a Tempur-Pedic bed. The first time I just laid on one I thought they sucked but then I got to sleep on one. WOW! Tempur-Pedics are the shizzle - seriously. We both sleep WAY better and have noticed that my back and neck hurt WAY less since we've had this bed. You might want to try one before you buy a sleep number bed. |

Got one here. Wife #35 me #45.
We both sleep great on this bed. It helps w/ my lower back pain & her degenerative disk in her neck. I mostly sleep on my back but find sleeping on my side comfortable too. We both hate sleeping in a regular bed but the 'hotel sex' is great. 7mm |

They have a 30 day free trial, I think you have to pay the shipping back though. That is correct. Reviews I've read online and here seem pretty positive but wife read on consumer reports that they can leak within 2 years and have mold problems which I don't understand. |

I guess any bed that has sweat/moisture issues would have mold issues. I think we got the 7000 model. They had 1 year free financing if you got their credit card. We did that and paid it off and canceled the card within the year. |
