I have had a virus on my computer for several months and it has recently gotten worse.  It's Adaware or some variant of Adaware.  I've used about all of the free downloads but have had no success.  Can anyone recommend to me something that will rid me of this problem?  I know that it will problably not be free but I am at my wits end.

malwarebytes anti-malware.

install, update, reboot in safemode and scan. once you find otu exactly what youve got, look up the removal instructions to get rid of any extra registry keys/install locations/etc.

just back up the files you want and format disk. reinstall your OS and stop dling "free" crap. most of this stuff has adaware and "viruses" built in. or look at programs you DLed about the time it started and get rid of them. and READ the licensing agreements BEFORE you install.
