I am a college student in Arkansas but my parents live in VA. So I am looking for a job in the TX, AR area or the VA area but at the same time I am open to other areas. I am a business major and recreation minor and I have a lot of experience in backpacking. I am a certified Wilderness First Responder. I would prefer to have a job working outside. My summer dream job would be to take people on multi day backpacking trips. Does anyone have any ideas of where I could work or have any connections with people that need summer employees? I have considered and applied for several summer camps in the areas as a ropes course/rock climbing/repelling staffer but I am still open for other ideas.

snagajob.com +1 on camps Some beach resorts like people like you to work with their family-oriented programs. Try the YMCA, too, Young Man. |

Well, if you can't find your dream job for the summer, may I suggest:
The post office? I only worked there for about 2 months as seasonal help and made $11/hour which, back in my hometown of upstate of NY, was pretty damn decent money for a college kid during the summer. No, its not an outdoorsy job and no, it's not very sexy but...if you need the money, it's pretty decent. Just a suggestion! |
