I just called ATT to see if it was possible to get transcripts of my outgoing messages from the phones on my plan.......... guy on the other end say yeap you sure can ..with a lawyer and a court order.... I told him, I dont want incoming messages, just my outgoing ones...dont matter...
HOW FUCKING STUPID IS THAT!! |
|
I have att and my bill comes every month for 5 phones. Every call incoming and outbound is shown so they can justify the outragoues charges I must pay to keep in contact with my kids. I would drop them in a heartbeat if it was any other way.
I get the numbers they call or att dont get my dollars. |

| I have no sympathy as you have chosen AT&T and everyone should have realized a long time ago you should avoid them when possible. Though I do understand it's not always possible. At my job I have to call them on a fairly regular basis - and its always a nightmare. |

AT&T sucks because they aren't offering up content of the outgoing text messages that you deleted? ![]() start a thread saying "AT&T archiving your personal txt message conversations EVEN AFTER YOU'VE DELETED THEM!!!!!" and see the same people rant about "privacy rights" |

You have no justification in getting upset at anyone other than yourself, and you certainly shouldn't be calling anyone "slick" or making smarmy comments on their inability to comprehend your unjustified selfishness. You also seem to have missed the fact that he was indicating an ironic element to your conundrum. So as to stay on topic: I'm betting it's a pretty PITA to track down a 5k message off of a group of servers that probably hold thousands (if not millions) of terabytes of data. Can you imagine the logistical nightmare if AT&T offered a "I'm a boob and deleted my messages - can I haz them back now?" service? Limiting retrieval for court-ordered data requests seems reasonable to me, especially given the fact that the only folks requesting the data would be legitimate law enforcement investigations, and "can I haz my msgs back now that I deleted them?" morons. If you aren't in LE pursuing a lead during a criminal investigation, I think you can guess which category you fall into. I understand you're upset, but you do realize that your request to customer service is an unreasonable one, don't you? |
