I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on software that would show the relative health (based on performance of some benchmarks) of a pc and compare them to those of a similar machine in good health.
I have some old(er) machines and am trying to decide what is to be gained by reformatting and starting over with them. It would be great to run a little test that could show that my machine is running at x% of it's optimal level. Would be even better if I could see an improvement in that number after a rebuild. So far my Google has found a program called Passmark - but suspect the only reason I have fund it is they have paid Google to be on top for some of the search words I used. I know some IT guys that came into our office used something like this as a marketing tool for their services (but I did not get the name of the program they used, or if it gave useful results - or just stuff for them to market their services with - so much of the junk out there is just to sell worthless performance enhancing programs) |

I used to go to pcpitstop.com but I haven't been there in a long time and I think they've made a few changes.
