Are these things reliable, or are they jam-o-matics?

Mine work great, no problems if run pretty wet.  Have not tried the Black Dog mags with them yet.

Mine works fine, needs to be run fairly wet, you will know when it stops chambering right squirt of erl and she is off and running again...

I too have not tried the Black Dog Mags. But I would sure like too!
10 round mags become somewhat tiresome!

I've had some suck and some work fantastic. I sold my last (and best one) here on the EE a couple years ago. Right before ammo got expensive again.

Bought a Spike's Tactical .22 upper last fall. Seems worth the money.

MIne sucked when I first got it.  I put about 500 - 1000 rounds of minimags through it & it started running much better.  It runs good w/ minimags, and OK w/ some of the cheaper ammo.  Overall I think it's great for plinking & would be ok for small game hunting. I have found it runs much better wet w/ Breakfree.

What are they?  Google turns up rocket launchers and a rimfire adapter from Oly Arms.

I assume you guys are talking about the former.

The M261 referred to here is a US Army 22 conversion kit used during the lean years of military draw downs to keep ammunition costs down.
Only one I knew of.

Mine work great. The mag inserts only hold ten rnds which is teh suck.
