parents old washer crapped out and I got my friends old one (fairly new) but they wanted a bigger model. All hooked up for a short test run. Water fills just fine and runs the initial wash cycle. Normally once wash cycle is done it drains and refills (correct?). Looks as though the pump is out (easy fix). And the temp fix is to let the washer drain by gravity (outside washer). But the cycle doesnt start back up (refill, rinse and so on). i can hear the control dial click once the water drains out, but nothing else...

Any ideas on what to look at? can get model if needed I think

Seems as though the safty switch built into the lid wasnt making a good contact (IE not going far enough down). . All working now

If you hear the motor running when the controller clicks then it is most likely the pump or the belt is broken or has come off of the pulley. If you arent hearing the motor running, then it is either the motor, the controller, or a relay mechanism (if any).

May not be completely draining?

Most washers have to be completely drained before the spin cycle will kick on.

Our new front loader wouldn't drain or spin.  Found a hair pin in the pump, reattached pump and magically it works.

I dont hear the pump do anything. The agitqater (sp?) works just fine and fills fine. Just once initial aggitation cycle stops, when its supposed to drain, it doesnt...
