I have a Samsung 40" LCD, Samsung home theatre, and when I watch cable, it will inexplicably go to a green screen. I still have audio, just no picture. It never does this when watching a DVD, only when I am watching cable. I have read in tech forums it could be a "handshake" problem between the cable box and either my receiver or TV, or a problem with my HDMI connection. I also read opinions this is particularly a problem with Motorola cable boxes...and behold, I have a Motorola box. True this is a gun forum, but there seems to be a lot of people with knowledge on many subjects here and hopefully someone can elaborate or share similar experiences/solutions.

Try using a different type of video cable in a different input on the display. If you are using HDMI, try Component Video.
If it still does it across all TV inputs, it could be the video board in the display. If not, it could in fact be a problem with the "HDMI out" on the cablebox, and you can easily fix that with a phone call to the cable company. |
