I'm watching the special on Foxnews about Gary Sinise and his USO tours. He's a hell of a stand up guy.
But anyway, they talk about how he's widely known as "Lt Dan", and while I liked his character in that movie, my favorite role I've seen him in was actually as Jimmy Shaker in "Ransom". Yeah, he was the bad guy, but it was a great role and he pulled it off very well. If you have one, what's your favorite role of his? ETA: I missed it by a minute. They just showed a full bird colonel say that was his favorite role. |

He was a good villan in "Ransom."
Gary is a good supporter of the Republican party. There was a site I saw a while back with celebrities' political donations. Mr. Sinise was one of only a handful who wasn't a liberal sack of hollywood shit. He's one of the good guys. |

My favorite role of his was Ken Mattingly in Apollo 13 Same here. +1 I wonder if he's going to make a lifetime go at taking over Bob Hopes spot with the USO? Seems like he would be a great successor. Yep. Only he needs more comedy as the Great Bob Hope had that DOWN PAT. |

He has a charity that does social projects in Iraq for children. And a band that does stuff to support that I believe.

Funny story. . .I'm walking down Park Ave in NYC, from Grand Central. Heading to my office on Lexington Ave @ 33rd St. . . .It's winter. I have on a black Carhart jacket, and a black fleece "watch cap" kinda hat. . . I bundled up pretty good, cause it's cold and windy. . . .it's fairly early in the morning, and the streets are fairly empty. I get to the corner of 40th St, and have to pause for traffic. There's a guy standing next to me. He goes "Hey, you're Gary Sinise!" I say, "Uh, no, I'm not." He says, "Oh, . . I guess you get that alot, cause you look just like him." I say, " Uh, actually, your the first person who has ever said that to me." He kinda laughs and goes, "Oh really?" I told this to my wife, and she didn't even know who GS was. . . .Anyway, I wouldn't mind being mistaken for him. . .from what I've read he is a good guy, and has been a tireless supporter of our troops. . .but I think he's in better shape than me! Me: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/Fudgieghost1/Misc%20Pics1/UK%202007/IMG_3160-1-1.jpg Mr. Sinise: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c66/Fudgieghost1/Misc%20Pics1/UK%202007/GarySinise.jpg I don't see the resemblance too much. . . LOL... GS rocks. |
