I was inspired by this thread:

Who here carries in bed?  I don't mean gun near by, but actually on your person, the same as you carry everyday.

I admit to doing it a time, or two.

Not even within arms reach. Last thing I need to do is buzz a round through a wall (or worse) on account of a weird dream.

Why not just keep it on your night stand. I cant see how it woud be quiker. I could understand in a tent and have a gun in your sleepng bag if your in bear country but in a residence it seems overkill. Also as much as my wife is okay with guns I wouuld have a hard time with her being okay with me sleepng with a gun in the bed with us.

ETA: Edit for Spelling

Middle of the night the phone rings.  I barely wake up, reach over the girlfriend and pull a tissue out of the Kleenex box, hold it to my ear and say "Hello?"

...

Yeah.

That made me realize anything can happen when one isn't "really" awake, so I'm a bit careful of where I place a handgun when it is sleepy-time.

No.  But a few times I've nodded off in a chair and taken a nap while carrying.  But I don't think that's what you're looking for.  Never carried while sleeping in bed.

Only during tornado warnings.

If I wake up in a tree with all my belongings scattered over the county, I will at least have my boots on and a good blaster at my side

i keep my Glock in its holster either under the bed, or under the other pillow. Depending on if there is a female in the bed or not ;)

I wouldn't live in a shit-hole that required me to carry in the house or while asleep.

When camping in bear country I have kept a sidearm in a holster on my belt once or twice....normally I just keep a rifle in the tent but if I'm backpacking that isnt an option.

At home, never.

had the AR next to me when the power was out for a couple of hours a few nights ago. i don't trust the hillbilies that have been breaking into cars in my neighborhood. my dogs stoppped them from getting in my car. they went 6 houses down and broke the windows in my kid's babysitters car

sleep n carry, nope just right nest to me

I slept with a 1911 before next to me, on accident. There's a nightstand thing directly next to the bed, no need to carry on person.

Guy I knew (barely, and years ago) accidently shot and killed himself by sleeping with a Glock under his pillow. Obit says "it went off"

I'm wondering how some of you guys can carry in bed anyway, wasn't there a thread awhile back saying most guys here slept naked or close to it?

Naked guy with gun belt and holster?

You are going to end up blowing off your foot, or some other more vital appendage.

You can still wear a belt.
