I was looking to check the expansion of some hollowpoints I have, and heard that you could take 6 gallon jugs of water and shoot them and the bullet would be in the fifth or sixth one. Any truth to this? or a better method?

That's how I've been told. I've never actually tried it though, been thinking about mixing up some homemade ballistics gel though.

Layers of really wet News Paper in a 5 gallon bucket gets you really close to the real thing.

5-10, wet phonebooks should cover it as long it is more than 15"
