The wife unit bought what she thought was an Ipod mp4 player from Ebay.
It has a setup disk that is the size of a coke can top with a panda on it. I have no idea the terminology of these things, if one of you has a knockoff I pod and can help me, I would appreciate it. |

Sounds fishy. Do you have pictures of it? You should just install iTunes on your computer, then plug in the iPod and follow the directions. it is fishy. the damn thing looks like an I pod, but doen't have an Apple logo on it anywhere. It is an 8gig with a color screen. We thought it was an I pod from apple, not a knock off. I am pissed, but moving forward. The itunes software doesn't recognize it. |

Does it look anything like this hunk of shit? http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh167/thisemail321/FI1.jpg My parents purchased this in China a year-or-two ago thinking it was a real Ipod. exact same set up, just without the apple graphics, and the play pause Icon on the center button. I am going hunting. My wife may find herself in here, so be nice. |

You better have some damn good antivirus program if you're gonna be messing around with knockoff iPods. Can you post a picture of the device and the disk, I'm interested to see if I can find any info about it. suggest something, please. the ranger is out of his element, and expected to perform the impossible for the ungrateful, with absolutely nothing. Failure is not an option. |

Umm, I'm thinking that if the i-Tunes software does not recognize it, this is not a good thing.
Hopefully we did not pay too much for the imitation i-Pod thing? If you are still within 30 days, file a claim against the seller on e-Bay for false representation of goods. i-Pod is a copyrighted trade name, and if this thing says "i-Pod" on it and it is NOT made by Apple, the person who sold you this is breaking both e-Bay rules and the law too. EDIT: P.S. even if the device itself does not say "i-Pod" on it, but the item description on e-Bay used that name, it is still misrepresentation. |
