Ok, my desktop PC runs Windows XP and Internet Exploder... 5? I think? I don't have any problems with it.
My laptop runs Windows Vista and Interner Explorer 7. Whenever I access gmail or facebook with it and try to type something, it doesn't work right. If I type a message on Arfcom or into my crappy word processor, it works fine. But when I try to type a message into gmail or facebook, I have to keep hitting the same key two, three, sometimes up to FIVE times before it appears on the screen. If I just type normally, I get a message that looks like this: I tred png on thi webst bt itkeps fckin up. Space key, numbers, letters, etc. keep acting as if I'm not hitting them and I have to go back and correct nearly every word. Punctuation works fine every time. I have no idea why it keeps fucking up, but it's ONLY this computer and ONLY on those two websites. WTF? |

I have a similar problem at work and I wasn't going to say anything cause you guys would think I'm crazy.
On ANY OTHER website in existence, my mouse works normally but on AR15.COM the left button doesn't always connect right. Some (most) of the time, if I just click normally, it hangs up and just sits there with the little hourglass. If I want to post something, I really have to slam the button with my finger to get it to work. But on the other hand if I very lightly push down on the button until it clicks, it works ok too. Its only when I click normally that it hangs up like that and ONLY on AR15.COM! |

I haven't seen that before, but I'd sure do a very complete scan to see if the laptop is compromised with malware. Facebook has had some compromise issues I know and perhaps you have a key logger on it that is malfunctioning a little bit. That's the only thing I can think of. Here's a good site with step by step instructions on how to do a really good scan.

Stop using all of those and you won't have this problem. OK, so I guess that's not particularly helpful. Have you tried Firefox? At least that would help narrow it down. If that's not it, try a google search to see if anyone else has the same problem. I suspect that it's an issue between Vista and your notebook, but maybe you can find a way around it. |

You computer is infected with a browser hijack Trojan or a rook kit program. You might not be able to download anti spyware/rootkit (because it will give you a 404 error page and/or it won't allow you to execute your programs (install).
If your anti spyware doesn't fix it. Download combofix in another machine. Rename it to combofix.bat before copying it to the infected computer(if the computer doesn't allow you to run .exe files). Let it run. Once finish run your anti-spyware/virus to make sure it is clean. http://www.myantispyware.com/2007/10/08/combofix-another-free-anti-spyware-tool/ |
