I am trying to help my mom improve security around her house. My plan is to convert some of the exterior lights into motion sensing lights, if possible. Does anyone know of releatively inexpensive way to convert a lamp similar to these:

She has about 15 around her house, and I do not want to replace all of them with factory made motions sensing lights. Thanks. |

Instead of trying to modify a existing interior light, install a motion activated light switch. They can be used for lights that are hardwired to the switch, or to the outlets.
ETA : Are you speaking of a interior "lamp" that would sit on a desk or a exterior light that mounts to the wall? |

the link wasnt working but if they are on the same circut you should be able to wire them to one or more motion sensors. tracing where all the wires lead will be a pain.
you can also replace the 4 lights nearest the corners and front door lights with motion lights. are they all on the same switch? the switch will need one of those guards so it isnt switched off accidentaly. |
| If you don't have experience with them, you should know that they cry wolf a lot. To rule out false hits you have to turn the sensitivity down, but turn it down to far and you can get within 10 feet of it. At first you look every time it comes on, but after awhile you stop lookin. |
