I believe that we will see another huge spike in oil next Spring.
A new fresh housing crisis. Cheap ammo due to the low cost of materials. Cheap slightly used firearms if there is no AWB. Increased tensions between Iran and Israel as Iran gets closer to a nuke and Obama does nothing but say soothing words. Canadian Civil War. |

I predict that '09 will be a huge year for "gay rights." I think with protests and positive media attention, they will wear the nation's resolve down to the point of giving in.
As we saw in the presidential election: when the media's on your side, you can't frickin' lose. |

Pakistan and India will exchange fire, it may or may not devolve into unrestricted warfare.
Gorbachev will die due to stroke. Politics will swing further left. The economy will drag down worse, but will start to recover late 2010 to 2000 levels, this will presage a slight return to conservatism. The dollar will remain low but will regain some purchasing power as more people resubscribe to non standard based currency (gold). California will have a mild earthquake. China will continue with depressed market readings until late 2012, at which point leadership will determine if action with Taiwan will help the flagging yuan. Britain will enact more asinine PC laws, defacement of cameras owned by the de facto police state will continue. Obama will be implicated in a major scandal dealing with past politics, he will survive but the taint will not go away and will dog him through his hamstrung presidential career. .. There you go, a few predictions. Let's see how I stack up..

Sadly, my grandfather will almost certainly pass, WWII Army medic PTO. He has been suffering dementia/early Altzheimers, a couple operations and at 86 on Christmas eve he has had a pretty good run but hes failing fast.
I predict my daughter will gain new confidence in her attempts to beguile her dad as she will turn 12. I predict that we will see a new front on the war open. whether that is an expanded roll in Astan or an incident with Iran I dont know. I forsee the economy dumping further as all the bailouts fail to halt the root causes. |
