I had 2 of my 4 1gb G-Skill sticks go bad, so I ordered a 4gb(2x2GB) Crucial Ballistic kit from newegg. Can I plug em in the 2 empty slots on my mobo and leave the Gskill in? I'm running a gigabyte board that'll take upto 8 gigs, and Vista businees 64 bit.

Do you have the manual for your motherboard?  From the sound of it I would say it should work but it would be best to check the manual to see if the memory modules need to be arrainged a certain way.

If you don't have the manual you can download it from gigabyte's website.

DDR has to be in matched pairs, according to which mobo you have, and SD is fine. correct me if i am wrong.

If 2 of the sticks went bad it better to check the other 2 to see if they came from the same batch or production run. The other 2 may go as well. Food for thought

This, i believe, is the answer you are seeking. I am not an expert however, though I have built two computers and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night..

The Gskill RAM was bought about 2 weeks apart( it's a year old now)... DDR2 PC6400. The new stuff is the same.
For $38.00 after a $20.00 rebate, and free shipping, I thought the Crucial was a smokin deal.
