What is the best way to kill one without making your situation even worse?
There are those who point out that, should you blow one up, each piece could potentially regenerate another zombie, compounding your problem. On the other hand, a flame thrower may or may not be effective, given that you don't know the state of decomposition, thus how flammable any given zombie might be, and I've seen scorched zombies continue their attack. So, really, anything short of complete vaporization is an iffy proposition at best.

Destroy the brain.

Even a freaking radio antenna stuck up his nose and twirled around should do it.

Exactly.

You can't go around blowing up zombies, but even if you did, the "bits" are fine as long as you don't ingest them somehow.  Now a bigger concern is noise.  Noise draws zombies, so you want to avoid loud booms and even gunshots if you're worried about drawing more to your location.

Read up on HTH zombie killing methods.  The Zombie Survival Guide and WW Z are excellent resources.

Remember, as rifleman200 said, keep it real.  Belief in "Hollywood" zombie traits will get you killed.  Turn off the movies.

Fire is a really bad idea when it come to using it against zombies.

Zombies, who are on fire, now have the ability to burn down whatever they come in contact with before the flames are extinguished.

Go to Blockbuter and get the training film "Dawn of the Dead" (2004 version)

That should answer all of your questions

Supressed .22lr.  Subsonic ammo in my rifles, any velocity in my pistol, because the barrel is short enough to keep everything subsonic.

Destroy the brain.

Projectile weapons are ideal, then impact weapons.  Avoid explosives and especially fire.

The best thing to do, is send the neighbor out to draw their attention. What you want to do is have him run slightly towards them, while you 'circle' around to the rear...

Keep in mind, it's hard to find volunteers if you refer to them as 'bait'.

Where the hell did you get the idea zombie bits can generate a new zombie? This is false and you need to crack down on your zombie knowlege.
Nevermind these guys and their "reality" talk

There is nothing worse than a "zombie denier". They are generally the first to go. Zombies relish the intestines of the "deniers".

It depends which zombies we are talking about here..

slow stupid zombies: have some fun.  I think all of us who have played any type of video game can agree that the shotty is the most useful tool against slow zombies.  Blow their heads off.

fast scary zombies: I say fuck that.  Shottys are way to slow for them, so I say get some grenades, grab your AR, and learn to bump fire that bitch

Although no zombies I have met have ever ever "regenerated", I couldn't rule it out going into an unknown zombie situation.  I'd say the best way to go would be the flamethrower if it came to that.
