I want to buy a Casio cell phone off ebay. It is a Verizon only phone.
I see a 'phone unlocking' kit for $10.... scam? School me! |
| As I understand it, an unlocked GSM phone does let you swap SIM cards and go on your merry way. For other systems e.g CDMA/TDMA, even if it's unlocked, your provider needs to agree to provision it on their network. I believe there have been new regulations passed in the last year or 2 regarding unlocking of phones, but I'm not current on details. Maybe check out the forums over at http://howardforums.com |

it is a verizon phone that I want to put on my t-mobile account. So I just need to call T-mobile? Tmobile is a GSM carrier. Verizon phones (not GSM) won't work on it. Edit: Well I say that, but which phone did you get? +1 Any unlocked phone will work on your network. If you call the carrier for a phone they can give you a code and instructions on how to unlock your phone. I also have T-mobile and they unlocked my phone while I was still under contract (so I could use a foreign SIM overseas). |
