So I was at the gun show this morning and I came across a AR-15 style weapon w/ a colt lower receiver. This receiver so happened to have what looked like an extra pin right above the trigger group, just below the upper receiver right where the bolt would be. The pin didn't go all the way through. Is this lower what I think i was?
The safety lever didn't spin to where the happy place spot would be but that may be due to the receiver being held open by a zip tie as per the show rules. Due to the tie and due to instruction of the owner I was not able to split the 2 apart to investigate further. If such an item were to be bought at a gun show without the seller knowing what it was could there be any legal ramifications? as I am not sure if each seller there has to have a FFL or not let alone a class 3 FFl. The price was 1,500.00 and I didn't buy it. I was just wondering if I was looking at what I thought I was looking at. |

Didn't some Colt receivers have a pin that held a block into place on the rear shelf? Yep. And that pin is a bit wrong in position, so even if you cut the block in half with a Dremel and managed to get the block out, an autosear will not work, or so I have been told. Yet there are people who have forgiven Cult for treating law-abiding citizens like children. |

I have a Colt 9mm Sporter Lightweight lower coming that has a the block pinned in like that. Don't worry about it unless the hole is smaller than the hammer/trigger pins and there is no steel block being held in place by the pin. That is when you worry. ![]() Good Info the pin was about the size of the hammer/trigger pins |

The one I have coming has HUGE pins. |
