After MONTHS of waiting, I finally have it!

Built the lower on a DPMS stripped lower.  Then got some FUCKED UP engraving done to it, so I had to send it away to get fixed by our own Karma.  He did a great job with what I gave him to work with.

Man NFA is fun, and almost worth the wait.  Mailed in the paperwork on 11 Aug, got it back on 17 November.  I had placed my order for the upper in Sept, about 6 weeks after I had submitted the paperwork.  According to the timelines thread in the NFA section it seemed like they were running about 8-10 weeks mailbox to mailbox, so at 6 weeks I figured would be a good time.  Little did I know it would take so long.  There was a bit of confusion between me and J&T regarding the order when I finally did get my form 1 back–– took a few calls to get the copy of the form 1 I sent in to be attached to my existing order so it could be shipped, but it finally did, and here it is!  I stole the YHM handguard from my 16" M4gery, and the the swap myself.  Learned a lot about uppers in the process, and I think for my next build I will build the upper as well.

But MAN that thing is LOUD!  Guess that means I need to put together a form 4 for a suppressor doesn't it?

what it needs is a repaint of the lower.  I screwed the FF tube on one turn too tight, and it scraped the pivot pin area all to hell.  Not to mention the heinously bad color match between the halves.

Man that sucker is hot!  You definitely need to suppress that bad boy.  :D

And on the noise, you should try a 7.5" barrel on a pistol if you haven't already.  THAT is loud.

I'm looking at a deployment in ~March, so I'm thinking I'll fire off my form 4 before I leave, and hopefully it will be back around the same time I come home.  Nothing like a nice quiet welcome home present

It should work ok on the 94....the fake supressor is pressed and pinned on...when it comes off there will be 3 lug MP5 sweetness underneath..at least I hope so

is it tack welded like post-ban flash hiders?  If so, you may or may not be able to get it off without buggering up the barrel pretty bad

Yup, but having a butt stock anywhere near it or any AR pistol is a BIG no-no.
At least thats what I get from this ATF letter.
