After MONTHS of waiting, I finally have it!
Built the lower on a DPMS stripped lower. Then got some FUCKED UP engraving done to it, so I had to send it away to get fixed by our own Karma. He did a great job with what I gave him to work with. Man NFA is fun, and almost worth the wait. Mailed in the paperwork on 11 Aug, got it back on 17 November. I had placed my order for the upper in Sept, about 6 weeks after I had submitted the paperwork. According to the timelines thread in the NFA section it seemed like they were running about 8-10 weeks mailbox to mailbox, so at 6 weeks I figured would be a good time. Little did I know it would take so long. There was a bit of confusion between me and J&T regarding the order when I finally did get my form 1 back–– took a few calls to get the copy of the form 1 I sent in to be attached to my existing order so it could be shipped, but it finally did, and here it is! I stole the YHM handguard from my 16" M4gery, and the the swap myself. Learned a lot about uppers in the process, and I think for my next build I will build the upper as well. But MAN that thing is LOUD! Guess that means I need to put together a form 4 for a suppressor doesn't it?

I was going to build something similar but I just got deployed and didnt have the time to wait for the permit. I'm looking at a deployment in ~March, so I'm thinking I'll fire off my form 4 before I leave, and hopefully it will be back around the same time I come home. Nothing like a nice quiet welcome home present
