a buddy of mine converted some vhs stuff to dvd-r for me today and dropped them off. when i got home and loaded them in my cpu, they're reading that they're blank. i can see physically on the disc that they've got something written, but microsoft is gey and isn't reading the discs.

any ideas?

Did he finalize the sessions on each disk?

Session prolly not closed.

Try them in a stand alone DVD player.

A buddy I burn DVDs for can only read DVD+R ones.

DVD+R is different from DVD-R.

You need a DVD player that can handle the correct format (or a DVD player that can handle both).

It should be stamped right on the front of the player.
