Looks good. I've been making chowder here also...I have some smoked salmon that my family seems to like in Chowder...
Celery (diced up carrots occasionally), sauteed until clear, then add a bit more oil (or butter) and flour to make a blond roux. Add Chicken stock, 1/2 and 1/2 or cream/milk/evaporated milk. Add the smoked salmon (broken into small pieces), some salt (if needed) pepper, and occasionally some dehydrated vegetables (more for the specks of parsley in the blend that I get). Diced fine potatoes, then slow simmer until the potatoes are tender....the kids and my wife seems to love it. |

Bump for the hungry.
In case you all wonder why I bother doing this, I do it as a 'community service'. I figure that there are a bunch of young bachelors here who are intimidated by a stove and a hot frying pan. If I can make something tasty out of stuff from the store, than you can too. It impresses the ladies as well. |
