Quoted:
No way for me. I don't want to waste the little ammo I have. I don't want to hit something I don't want to. I don't want to take my gun off my target. I don't want to lose my night vision by having a muzzle flash while trying to be observant. I want LE on my side and not thinking I endanged anyone else or shot unnecessarily. Anything wrong with my opinion?
you forgot "illegal in most circumstances" |

In general, I'm against firing warning shots.
But... There was a poster who posted a lengthly article about guarding his neighborhood after Katrina. He was standing post one night when a couple of hood rats approached in their car... started talking crap to him... demanded to be let into the area where they didn't even live. He showed him his shotgun and after they kept talking crap, he decided that they were building up to something; he fired a warning shot across their hood and they immediately made plans for their departure. Like I said, in general, a warning shot is not advisable. But some people are just so stupid, they honestly believe that they can talk you out of your wallet, home, anal virginity, etc. etc. just because they think they are the meanest M.F. in the valley. A gunshot is something that they can understand. And personally, legal crap aside... if I can defuse a situation without shooting someone, I'll do it. |

If I have to put my hand on the trigger I have the intention of someone is going to die one way or the other. That's the way I was raised and I believe it.
Someone who is ready to fire a warning shot is the same guy who is quick to break out a gun before it's time. |

I think the situation would dictate a warning shot or not. Inside my house, no, your getting tapped. Outside, on my property, a warning shot might be used. Not in the air though, into the ground if I think there is no chance for a ricochette into my neighbors house.
Unless of course the threat is to the point a double tap is nesesary. |
