In the last week or so I have received 3 calls from numbers I have never even heard of. They are from area codes that are nowhere near me. I haven't been around to pick up when the call has been made, and no voicemails are being left.

Any idea WTF is going on? Here are the numbers:

360-432-2482

401-785-1659

603-488-5038

The only one that seems somewhat close is the 603 number. That is from New Hampshire I think. The rest I have never heard of

In for weird phone call goodness.

Back later after workout.

603 is definitely southern NH.  I used to live in 603.

I'm pretty sure that all three of them are calling on behalf of the Tucson Firefighter's Association.  At least that's how it is out here.

Type them in Google.  See what comes up.

Its been happening to me 2-3 times a week.  Apparently, they are letting me know that a car I used to own is about to run out of extended warranty.

I've hard other folks are getting these calls lately too.

This.  Probably a phone phishing scam, like the "Your car warranty is about to expire, buy our extended service plan".

Perhaps someone used your # as theirs when they started up a credit card, and now that's the # they are using to get the $.

The 603 # is an automated telemarketing call for renewing your auto warranty.

Last time they called, I hit the button to speak to someone and spent 40 minutes with them trying to get a warranty on a Citroen and a Volkswagen Bug that was half-buried in my backyard (lies of course).  He would ask for a VIN and I would say let me go look and leave the phone laying on the counter for 15 minutes at a time.  At the end, they told me that unfortunately they could not cover my vehicles!

It was damn funny!

Are you on on the DNC list?  If you are, you can report them.  If you aren't, I suggest you get on it, and it should stop them from calling.
