[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Vent.. SEARCH FUNCTION SUCKS (Page 1 of 2)

| I just had to say this and see what other people thought. I hate the search function on this board. Other forums require 15 seconds between searches which is okay but 60 seconds makes you not want to search at all. I think it tends to make more people not want to use it and post threads that could be answered if they were able to search easier. |

If you buy a membership it's as many searches as fast as you want.
Also a bigger mailbox. 150 instead of 20- or 50 I can't remember. I mean come on is 24 bucks a year too much for all the free info and laughs. Support the site people. Did anyone mention the BOTD forum also. |

You can use the site: command in google to search arfcom.
http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=site%3Aar15.com+%22obama%22&aq=f That said, the search function DOES need some work. You should be able to select checkboxes for the forums you wish to search. On the surface it seems like you can't use OR, AND functions in the search terms, or search the body. Took me a while to figure out you can use the archive search to use those functions. |

I am new here but on other forums i go to alot, it is very annoying when you have noobs asking the same questions over and over again. A easy to use search would help. Of course they still have to use it!!
Example i am going to buy an Olympic Arms stripped lower. i tried to search for info about it to make sure it wasn't junk. I couldn't find anything about it. I realized it was a fairly mundane question and just started going through the board page by page until i found some useful info. How many people would go through page after page instead of just making a new post? Free search = better for all members free or paying |

The search function is so fucking worthless I don't bother any more. The archive search isn't much better than the regular search. The only single thing on this site I have to complain about. Actually, I think there are less viewable adds for Team Members. I'm not sure what the non member pages look like anymore. |
