I have had a nasty sinus/sore throat thing that past 2 days. My sister and dad had it as well. MY sister was prescribed Keflex 500 mg. I happen to have a bag of keflex 500mg that the vet gave me years ago for my dog.

Are the medications the same?

the human pills are red and filled with white powder

the dog pills are green/lite green filled with a white powder

you should read that too, incase you're going to take it without consulting the good doctors of arfcom.

It is the same medicine, but you don't really need to take it as your illness is likely caused by a virus.  Bacteria often require antibiotics such as Keflex in order to kill them, but viruses are not killed by antibiotics.  Only time, and your body's immune system will fight off the virus.  If you want to, go ahead and take the medicine, and maybe later when you have a bacterial infection that actually needs to be treated with an antibiotic you will either:  a)  have an allergic reaction (specific antibiotics don't usually cause allergic reactions the first time you are exposed to them) or b) the bacteria that you are trying to kill will be resistent to the antibiotic because you took it before when you didn't really need to.
