OK, I have an older model Yankee Hill Quad-Rail handguard, the oned before they started putting the "anti-rotational" shit on them. I never have really had a problem with my handguards spinning on me, but to be honest I see how it could happen. My question is, should I order the upgraded parts (around $60.00) or I was just thinking I could Loc-Tite the handguard onto the barrel bushing. Whattya think?

Has anyone else has problems with their handguards spinning on them?

i had a minor issue regarding this several years ago on an M-4 but the problem was resolved when my gunsmith tightened the outer ring down really well.

I dont think it should be a major concern for you if you dont put a ton of use on the weapon.

I took a piece of #12 (or #10?) copper wire and made a 180 degree loop, which I stuck into 2 holes in the nut. Then I tapped a hole in the handguard, and added a set screw which bore down on the copper loop. No damage to the nut, solid as a rock.

That's what I was hoping to do. One guy i talked to suggested not doing it because he had a rough time getting his off, but I don't really see myself taking this thing off anytime in immediate future. Unless it doesn't hold, then that would make it a non-issue anyway.

might try wrapping the part of the handguard that slips under the delta ring with masking or electrical tape.  The extra thickness would prevent rotation.

On one of my first carbines, I had the non-FF YHM rail.  When using a vfg during IDPA-type rifle contests I had mine rotate quite a bit.  The tape worked for me.

I used to set-screw them... just drill through the guard and into the barrel nut, and install a setscrew.
