Are typically a bunch of rude assholes compared to Americans, at least in theme parks.
I base this on my random observations from my Disney trip last week. That is all. |

Sir, I don't usually respond to such pronunciations as you have provided. Generalizations about ethnic or geographical origins are based on stereotypes and misperceptions and usually exhibit the ignorance of the one providing the generalities. Having lived in Europe for a number of years I learned that what many americans consider rude behavior such as waiting in lines, europeans generally do not, with the exception of the Brits. Airports are a good example of what I'm trying to illustrate. In the US our airlines assign seating and announce boarding in a sequence starting with rows furthest from the entry and progressing closer toward the opposite end. On many european flights particularly those in Italy there are no seat assignments and when boarding is announced people rush enmass for the entry way. It's simply their custom, it's not rude by their standards. I'm reminded of an old saying that starts something like "when in Rome..." You can't realistically expect europeans on a holiday in our country to learn the differences in our customs for the relatively short time they are here. And oh by the way I've had similar experiences with Americans from the North east particularly New York and Boston. Europeans have no lock on rude behavior in my experience when you include New Yorkers. JMHO, 7zero1. |

Not all Europeans are rude. My folks went to Europe back in 1984 to visit my sister and had a great time. Switzerland and Germany were their favorite. They had a good time in France and Holland too. The folks were very nice, and spoke fluent english to them when they needed directions. One hotel proprietor in Germany opened the kitchen back up at a late hour (almost midnight) to cook for them after they checked in. They were starved and there was nothing else open in that very small town. I realize he is a business man, but how many businesses here would have told them "sorry, kitchen's closed"?
I dealt with quite a few European Soldiers from various countries over the years, and noticed they are more reserved, but it's not arrogance or an attempt to be unfriendly. That's the way they're brought up. Once we start speaking the universal language (beer), they really start talking and tell ya how they enjoy visiting America and are fascinated by the way we live-not everyting, but in an overall sense. Our homes are what really blow them away. |

I've been to Europe many times and I find your generalizations offensive. In a group of Europeans and Americans, you can pick out the Americans, no problem. We're loud, we're obnoxious, and we're impatient! ( at least most are)
I've been to all parts of Europe and I found that some of the nicest people were in France. (..not Paris...that was kind of like New York City) Germans were very polite and have a very structured society, which I enjoyed. They drive better than we do, too! I've also found that they are generally in better health than Americans, as they walk everywhere and have a better diet for the most part. We drive our cars down the driveway to get the mail...we're that lazy! Europe has their assholes and shitheads, but I'm sure pound for pound..Americans are 10 times worse. It must come from our mindset of Freedom. We think we are free to do anything we please, including being an asshole. We rarely think about others.....then again...I might be generalizing ...JUST LIKE YOU!

| I grew up in the UK, lived in Africa, and have been all around the world in the military. I've not found Europeans to be rude at all. I never had a problem, even in France(outside of Paris, but then Ive found alot of big cities to have their share of rudeness..). |

I lived in Germany for almost 14 years. One thing I despised about the Germans is that they can be very impatient, especially in the grocery check-out line.
One thing they like to do is bump you in the ass with their buggy, thinking that it’s going to somehow make the line move faster. When ever I got bumped in the ass with a buggy I would push back very abruptly, then turn and say “Oh, Entschuldigung!” Another thing that’s happened to me in Germany while waiting in line, is being cut in front of at the post office or at the bank ATM. Old ladies seem to think that you have more time to wait than they do. |

It's a good job that I do not genaralise all Americans after the few American assholes I've met. Because I've met quite a few that are ok..... Take a chill pill http://www.bloggers.it/mrclarendon/itcommenti/chillpill.jpg No, no, trust me. Most Americans are like everyone else, assholes. |

This why I call them Eurotrash. What a bunch of arrogant assholes who think that they are so 'sophisticated' compared to Americans. Their liberalism and post Christianity will lead them to the gutter while Arabs and Muslims infest and take over their countries. |

I lived in the Czech Republic for 6 months, and visited a lot of the surrounding countries. In my experience, the Europeans I met were far from rude. I was treated very warmly by most of whom I met. Even in their big cities. Prague=awesome. this, besides a lot of Canadians, Asians and Europeans feel the same way about Americans too. |

And just like here you have great people and ass holes. Exception to the rule = Paris (all ass holes ) |
