Call me a fraidy cat, but I just ordered 1K each of 223/556 and 9MM. Next up will be as much 12 gauge I can reasonably find (suggestions?).

Say what you will, but if things do get dicey, I’d rather not be doing the face/palm maneuver.  Been stockpiling food too.

Question: is mil-spec 30-06 the same as stuff that you run through civie rifles?

Nope, I think I have 5-7K about the place, but this is enough to set me at ease a bit.  But will order more soon.

Those Cabela Alaskan scopes any good? (FOR 30-06)

ETA: Any idea on this?

No mil 30 cal ball is not the same as sporting 30-06. It is usually loaded a bit lighter than the commercial round. You can however use it in any civie 30-06 gun but accuracy might not be spectacular.
