Around 9:45 a.m., the Rochester Fire Department's Hazardous Materials Chemical Assessment Team was called to the building because of a report of an envelope containing a white powder. A package with the white powder inside was found in the mailroom, and the room was immediately contained.. The substance has been removed and sent for testing. No results are available at this time. The institution remains secure and no inmates have come into contace witht he powder. The FBI has been called and results are expected sometime Friday. The incident comes after more than 30 letters containing a suspicious powder were mailed to Chase bank branches and federal banking regulators' offices in nine cities. Officials say those letters appear to be harmless. |

Why a federal Med Center? Maybe I'm missing something. Chase bank I can see someone having an axe to grind, but a Med Center? Something ain't right. All the same, I hope it's a Hoax and some doofus gets a tune up from a K-9 officer before getting the Bracelets. This sort of shit ain't funny. S-28 |
